ClickOut Media is seeking an Esports/Gaming Deputy Editor to manage editorial content for its global esports and gaming coverage. This fully remote role involves commissioning, writing, and editing content, mentoring writers, and overseeing daily publishing schedules. The Deputy Editor collaborates with the Newsroom Manager and Managing Editor to deliver timely, insightful, and engaging content while upholding editorial standards.

Responsibilities:

• Publish and edit esports and gaming content, including news, features, interviews, and event coverage.

• Pitch and produce second-day coverage with added depth or exclusive insights.

• Collaborate with reporters, analysts, and experts to produce original content.

• Develop and execute editorial strategies alongside the Newsroom Manager.

• Manage daily publishing schedules and ensure deadlines are met.

• Edit and fact-check articles for accuracy, clarity, and style compliance.

• Build and maintain relationships with industry stakeholders and PR contacts.

• Mentor writers and provide constructive feedback.

• Assist in planning major esports and gaming events.

• Act as lead editorial contact in the absence of the Managing Editor or Newsroom Manager.

Qualifications & Skills:

• Proven experience as a deputy editor, section editor, or journalist in esports/gaming.

• Strong understanding of the esports and gaming industry, major titles, events, and trends.

• Experience managing remote teams and multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.

• Excellent editorial judgment, attention to detail, and fact-checking skills.

• Strong communication and relationship-building abilities.

• Familiarity with CMS and SEO tools.

• Ability to mentor junior writers.
