Miral Experiences is seeking a dedicated and skilled Veterinary Technician to join the team at SeaWorld Abu Dhabi (SWAD). This full-time, on-site role involves providing comprehensive veterinary care to a diverse animal population including mammals, fish, reptiles, birds, and invertebrates. The technician will also support regional marine life rescue and rehabilitation efforts, contributing to SeaWorld’s commitment to high animal welfare standards and scientific advancement in marine health.

Key Responsibilities:

🩺 Veterinary Care & Procedures

• Assist with veterinary treatments and procedures across SWAD’s animal collection.
• Restrain animals safely during medical procedures.
• Administer injections and oral medications per hospital protocols.
• Observe and report animal behavior and health conditions.
• Support emergency veterinary cases and routine husbandry coordination.

🧼 Facility & Equipment Maintenance

• Maintain cleanliness of medical areas, surgical rooms, and equipment.
• Perform inventory checks and update pharmaceutical and supply trackers.
• Sterilize surgical kits and instruments using autoclave systems.

🌊 Wildlife Rehabilitation & Research

• Participate in the care and rehabilitation of rescued marine mammals, birds, reptiles, and other species.
• Assist with anesthesia, radiology, sample collection, and diagnostic preparation.
• Contribute to research projects and prepare data for presentations and publications.

📋 Operational & Collaborative Duties

• Liaise with nutritional, diagnostic, and animal care teams.
• Maintain accurate animal records using Tracks Software or other systems.
• Assist in field rescues, health assessments, and research activities.
• Work flexible shifts including weekends and holidays.
• Perform physical tasks including lifting up to 20kg and extended periods of walking or standing.

Job Essentials:

• Diploma or Degree in Veterinary Nursing or related field.
• Eligibility for veterinary technician licensing in the UAE.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in a veterinary hospital setting.
• Strong English communication and teamwork skills.
• Adaptability to evolving animal care needs.
• Proficiency in MS Office and basic mathematical skills.

Job Desirables:

• Board eligibility or membership in a recognized veterinary body.
• Experience with zoo/aquarium communities and non-domestic species.
• Familiarity with data entry, hematology/reproductive analyzers, and equipment maintenance.
