Camp Welfare Officer

McDermott International, Ltd is hiring a Camp Welfare Officer to oversee welfare programs, recreational activities, and employee well-being in company camps and yards. The role involves ensuring proper living conditions, health and safety compliance, grievance handling, and coordination with HR and service providers. This is a full-time, on-site position for candidates with strong organizational and welfare management experience.

Responsibilities:

  • Inspect and maintain camp facilities; report issues promptly.

  • Conduct new hire briefings ensuring compliance with HSE, food hygiene, and safety regulations.

  • Handle first aid duties, emergencies, and liaise with doctors when needed.

  • Manage transportation arrangements, room allocations, and occupancy records.

  • Supervise maintenance, repairs, and camp materials (plumbing, carpentry, cleaning, electrical, etc.).

  • Monitor absenteeism and communicate with HR and admin teams.

  • Conduct safety drills (fire, evacuation, electrocution, disaster preparedness).

  • Prepare timesheets, occupancy reports, and budget coordination with accounting.

  • Coordinate with service providers (security, catering, clinic) to ensure service quality.

  • Manage procurement and petty cash for camp operations.

  • Organize environmental activities (tree planting, recycling, irrigation).

  • Provide counseling, welfare support, and recreational planning for employees.

Skills & Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma (mandatory).

  • Minimum 8 years of relevant experience in camp or welfare management.

  • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.

  • Knowledge of HSE regulations and food hygiene standards.

  • First aid certification (preferred).

  • Level-2 Award in Food Safety in Catering.

  • Contractor Camp Inspector Training Certificate.

  • Proficiency in basic computer applications.

  • Ability to work under pressure and manage emergencies effectively.
