King’s College Hospital London – UAE is seeking a Patient Safety Officer to champion safety initiatives and continuous quality improvement across the organization. Working under the guidance of the Patient and Quality Lead, the role focuses on incident management, regulatory compliance, training, and system improvements to ensure patient well-being and organizational excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

• Implement and manage incident reporting systems and facilitate root cause analyses (RCA) and investigations.

• Design, oversee, and monitor comprehensive patient safety programs.

• Develop and maintain safety metrics, reporting systems, and the Integrated Risk Register.

• Coordinate the Hospital Morbidity and Mortality Committee and provide patient safety education to staff.

• Identify and address safety risks through collaboration with clinical departments.

• Track and follow up on corrective action plans arising from incidents.

• Conduct Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA) and ensure compliance with all safety-related regulations.

• Review incident trends and implement evidence-based patient safety practices.

• Collaborate with Patient Experience, Quality, and Legal teams to address issues arising from complaints and concerns.

• Communicate lessons learned across specialties and promote open disclosure.

• Serve as a liaison with external regulatory bodies on safety matters.

Required Qualifications & Skills:

• Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (mandatory); Master’s in healthcare preferred.

• CPHQ/CPPS certification desirable.

• Minimum of 3 years of clinical nursing experience.

• Proven experience in incident management, RCA, FMEA, and risk assessments.

• Strong knowledge of patient safety principles, risk management, and regulatory compliance.

• Excellent communication, organizational, and analytical skills.
