Job Summary:
AWS is hiring for a Security Specialist Intern for its Data Centre (DC) Security team as part of the 2025 internship program. This 12-week, full-time internship in Abu Dhabi will focus on enhancing operational physical security within AWS data centers. Interns will gain hands-on experience in managing access control systems, overseeing daily security operations, and contributing to data-driven improvements.

Key Responsibilities:

• Coordinate with vendors on new security system installations, repairs, patrols, and security operations.

• Monitor and analyze security metrics and suggest improvements based on data.

• Propose upgrades for electronic surveillance and access control systems.

• Support initiatives to reduce false alarms and educate on safety protocols.

• Create detailed reports and presentations on the status of security operations.

• Communicate regularly with internal teams and management regarding physical security.

• Participate in security audits and inspections.

• Assist with real-time issue resolution and reporting.

Basic Qualifications:

• Currently pursuing or holds a Bachelor’s degree in Criminology, Criminal Justice, or a related field.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Familiarity with access control and video surveillance tools (e.g., LENEL, C-Cure).

• Interest in investigating disturbances, thefts, or security discrepancies.

• Keen eye for identifying security vulnerabilities and procedural gaps.

• Strong written communication and report-writing skills.
