The BMS/DCIM Operator is responsible for supervising and controlling the Building Management System (BMS) and Data Center Infrastructure Management (DCIM) systems, monitoring electrical, ELV, fire/life safety equipment, and HVAC operations within the data center to ensure peak efficiency and maintain mission-critical uptime (99.999%). The role requires expert technical oversight, coordination with onsite engineers and third-party vendors, and strict adherence to safety and operational protocols.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain BMS for HVAC, lighting, fire suppression, generator, plumbing, and electrical systems.

• Monitor DCIM systems and ensure HVAC control systems operate within set parameters.

• Adjust system variables as needed and record HVAC performance data for energy efficiency improvements.

• Communicate maintenance and repair actions to management in writing.

• Respond promptly to alarms and technical difficulties following established protocols.

• Monitor and verify BMS/DCIM field devices and adjust settings based on environmental and load changes.

• Maintain detailed documentation including job cards, alarm records, and maintenance reports using CAFM (FSI) Mobile App.

• Monitor fire detection alarms, water supply alarms, fire pump systems, motors, sewage pumps, electrical and water systems.

• Conduct daily checks of all facility equipment and maintain logs.

• Support emergency response and after-hours building activities.

• Attend training and seminars to stay current on systems and procedures.

Skills Required

• Knowledge of electrical & ELV systems, HVAC interior systems, and multiple skilled trades (electrical, HVAC, plumbing).

• Ability to read CAD drawings, single-line diagrams, and shop drawings.

• Skilled in analyzing infrastructure systems and troubleshooting malfunctions.

• Experienced in BMS/DCIM operation with strong attention to detail.

• Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office and CAFM Mobile Apps.

• Ability to remain calm during emergencies and follow procedures accurately.

Qualifications

• 2-3 years of experience as a BMS/DCIM Operator in data center maintenance/operations.

• Minimum 5 years total experience in BMS/DCIM systems.

• Technical qualification related to the field.

• Data center certifications are an advantage.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook).
