Job Summary:
Motivate Media Group is seeking a talented and driven Deputy Editor to help lead the content direction for What’s On Abu Dhabi in both print and digital formats. The ideal candidate will have a passion for Abu Dhabi life, excellent editorial skills, and experience in managing teams and producing engaging multimedia content.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and coordinate the editorial planning, production, and delivery of monthly print editions and daily digital content for What’s On Abu Dhabi.

• Write compelling and creative content covering lifestyle, events, gigs, news, and community topics relevant to Abu Dhabi residents.

• Work closely with the Group Editor to shape the brand’s editorial tone and content strategy across platforms.

• Commission, sub-edit, and proofread content to ensure accuracy, clarity, and brand consistency.

• Manage and grow social media presence, including content planning, engagement, and video creation.

• Represent What’s On Abu Dhabi at industry and community events, acting as the face of the brand.

• Collaborate with the sales team to develop commercially aligned editorial projects and campaigns.

• Ensure all editorial content complies with legal standards and is budget-conscious.

• Contribute to data-driven strategies using tools such as Google Analytics and Parse.ly.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in journalism, media, marketing, or related field.

• Minimum 3 years of editorial experience, preferably across print, digital, and social media.

• Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills with the ability to meet tight deadlines.

• Familiarity with creating multimedia content, including short-form video and social media graphics.

• Experience in managing content calendars and editorial production cycles.

• Proficiency with content management systems, analytics platforms (Google Analytics, Parse.ly), and social media management tools.

• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.

• Knowledge of the UAE lifestyle and culture is preferred.
