Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and highly knowledgeable Sharia Compliance Manager to join our team in Dubai. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring that all banking activities, policies, and documents are fully aligned with Sharia principles and the regulations of the UAE Central Bank, Higher Sharia Authority (CBUAE-HSA), and Internal Sharia Supervisory Committee (ISSC).

Key Responsibilities:

🧩 Regulatory & Sharia Compliance

• Ensure full compliance with UAE Law No. 14 of 2018 and all fatwas, resolutions, and circulars from:

  • CBUAE-HSA

  • ISSC

  • AAOIFI Sharia Standards

  • Other Islamic banking regulations

📊 Monitoring & Gap Analysis

• Monitor daily business activities for Sharia compliance

• Analyze HSA circulars and draft gap analysis reports with clear obligations, actions, and deadlines

📬 Communication & Reporting

• Communicate new resolutions and updates to internal stakeholders

• Prepare periodic Sharia compliance reports for submission to the ISSC and Group CEO

📑 Policy & Document Review

• Review contracts, product structures, SOPs, marketing material, and manuals for Sharia compliance

• Propose changes to mitigate Sharia non-compliance risk

🧠 Sharia Awareness & Training

• Promote Sharia culture within the organization

• Conduct awareness programs to enhance staff knowledge and compliance

🔍 Audits & Field Reviews

• Conduct field audits and reviews of subsidiaries and business units

• Follow up on remedial actions for non-compliance issues

🧾 Policy Development & Corrective Actions

• Assist in developing Sharia compliance policies and internal control mechanisms

• Support implementation of action plans addressing Sharia violations

Candidate Profile:

✅ Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in Sharia with knowledge of Islamic banking, finance, or law
  OR

• Bachelor’s in Islamic Economics/Banking/Finance with proven Sharia and legal knowledge

✅ Experience:

• 7+ years in a Sharia Department of an Islamic Financial Institution (IFI)

• 5+ years acceptable if holding a Master’s degree in a related Islamic field

✅ Key Skills:

• Strong understanding of AAOIFI standards and UAE Islamic banking regulations

• Basic knowledge of credit policy and editorial review skills

• Advanced knowledge in compliance frameworks for IFIs
