Legal Counsel – Commodities & Corporate Advisory | Join a Global Energy Brokerage

Charterhouse is partnering with a forward-thinking global energy brokerage, with a sharp focus on the Green Energy Transition, to recruit a Legal Counsel for their operations. This is a standalone, full-time position where you will have complete legal oversight across all commercial and corporate activities within the group.

As the business enters a strategic growth phase—including upcoming mergers and acquisitions—you’ll play a pivotal role in ensuring legal compliance, advising on business structure, managing regulatory frameworks, and supporting corporate strategy.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide general legal counsel across commercial, corporate, and governance functions.

• Draft, review, and negotiate commercial contracts and agreements.

• Offer legal insight into company formation, restructuring, and governance across jurisdictions.

• Lead due diligence, negotiations, and documentation for M&A activities.

• Support internal teams on regulatory and compliance frameworks tied to global energy and commodity trading.

• Collaborate directly with senior management and external stakeholders to mitigate risk and maintain legal integrity across global operations.

Requirements:

• 0–4 years PQE in Commercial Law; UK or Common Law qualification preferred.

• Background in Energy, Commodities, or Sustainability-focused sectors is highly desirable.

• Demonstrated ability to work autonomously in a generalist in-house legal role.

• Passion for supporting businesses aligned with green transition and sustainability goals.
