Charterhouse is working with a global logistics provider in the oil & gas industry to recruit an Assistant General Manager – Transport Operations. This is a senior leadership role overseeing transportation fleet operations, risk management, and client engagement across high-value logistics contracts.

The successful candidate will play a key role in managing fleet efficiency, driving health & safety initiatives, handling key client contracts, and improving overall operations. You will lead a team of transport professionals while ensuring compliance, performance optimization, and strategic growth.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee daily transport operations, including fleet utilization, driver performance, and scheduling

• Support contract renewals, customer relationship management, and business development activities

• Implement and monitor HSE (Health, Safety & Environment) policies and risk mitigation strategies

• Lead and train the transport operations team to ensure service quality and performance

• Track and manage idle vs. active fleet resources to optimize operational output

• Handle customer inquiries and support potential client onboarding

• Drive continuous improvement in safety, service delivery, and cost control

Requirements:

• Minimum 10 years’ experience in oil & gas transport or heavy logistics operations

• At least 5 years in a senior management or leadership role

• Strong experience in HSE compliance, operations leadership, and team training

• Proven track record in business development and client relationship management

• Fluent in Arabic – Native Arabic speaker required

• Excellent communication, negotiation, and fleet performance analysis skills
