Job Overview:
We are seeking a highly experienced and visionary MEP Design Director to lead the mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) design strategy across major residential, commercial, and mixed-use developments. The successful candidate will drive innovation, sustainability, and technical excellence across all design phases, ensuring MEP systems are fully integrated, code-compliant, and aligned with project objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership & Strategy:

Lead the strategic planning and delivery of MEP designs for large-scale development projects.

Provide technical leadership and coordination among architects, structural engineers, and MEP consultants to ensure seamless design integration.

Define MEP design objectives aligned with project timelines, budgets, and sustainability goals.
Design & Engineering Oversight:

Review and manage consultant and contractor MEP design submissions for quality, compliance, and technical accuracy.

Ensure MEP systems meet all regulatory codes, LEED/Estidama targets, and industry best practices.

Implement value engineering strategies to optimize cost-efficiency without sacrificing performance.
Project Execution Support:

Participate in technical design reviews, stakeholder meetings, and on-site inspections.

Oversee installation, commissioning, and handover processes to ensure quality and performance standards are met.

Troubleshoot and resolve design and implementation issues during construction.
Compliance & Risk Management:

Ensure full compliance with local authority regulations, safety standards, and environmental guidelines.

Identify, evaluate, and mitigate MEP-related risks throughout the project lifecycle.
Innovation & Sustainability:

Champion smart building solutions, energy-efficient technologies, and sustainable design practices.

Remain up to date on emerging MEP technologies, digital tools (including BIM), and global trends in building services engineering.
Requirements:

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Building Services Engineering.

Professional Engineering license or chartered status preferred.

10+ years of progressive experience in MEP design, including 5+ years in a leadership capacity on large-scale real estate or infrastructure projects.

Extensive knowledge of international and GCC-based MEP codes and standards.

Proven ability to manage multidisciplinary consultant and contractor teams.

Strong stakeholder communication and coordination skills.
-
Proficiency in BIM and other digital MEP design tools is highly advantageous.
