ITExcellence is a technology-focused company committed to delivering tailored IT solutions that enhance performance, security, and business continuity. We are currently seeking a skilled AIX Administrator to join our client’s IT team in Fujairah for a 1-year onsite contract.

Role Summary:
As an AIX Administrator, you will manage and maintain the AIX server infrastructure, ensuring optimal system performance, availability, and reliability. You’ll work with a talented team of IT professionals to support mission-critical systems and ensure compliance with security standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Install, configure, and maintain AIX operating systems and IBM Power Systems.

• Monitor performance metrics and ensure high availability of AIX environments.

• Perform system backups and restores; ensure effective disaster recovery processes.

• Apply patches, updates, and configuration changes as needed.

• Troubleshoot and resolve hardware/software issues on AIX platforms.

• Manage system security, access controls, and compliance protocols.

• Integrate AIX systems with network resources and support business applications.

• Document configurations, processes, and system procedures.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

• Minimum 5 years of experience in AIX systems administration.

• Strong hands-on experience with UNIX shell scripting, IBM Power Systems, and NIM (Network Installation Manager).

• Proficiency in TCP/IP networking, virtualization, and system performance monitoring.

• Solid background in backup and recovery solutions.

• AIX certification is a plus.
