Job Title: Senior Accountant 

Job Description:

We are seeking a highly experienced and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to lead key financial functions and ensure accurate reporting, compliance, and strategic insights across the organization. Based in the UAE, the ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in accounting principles, excellent analytical capabilities, and a proven track record of managing financial operations in dynamic business environments.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Financial Reporting:

• Prepare and analyze financial statements (balance sheet, income statement, and cash flow) in line with GAAP or IFRS standards.

• Deliver timely, accurate financial reports to management and key stakeholders.

2. General Ledger Management:

• Oversee accurate recording of financial transactions within the general ledger.

• Perform reconciliations and resolve any discrepancies in a timely manner.

3. Budgeting & Forecasting:

• Support the development of annual budgets and financial projections.

• Track performance against budget and provide in-depth variance analysis.

4. Tax Compliance:

• Ensure timely preparation and submission of tax returns, complying with all relevant local, state, and federal tax laws.

• Stay abreast of changes in tax regulations and assess their impact on the organization.

5. Audit Coordination:

• Act as a primary liaison for internal and external audits.

• Compile necessary documentation and respond to auditor queries efficiently.

6. Cost Accounting:

• Evaluate cost structures and recommend opportunities for savings and efficiency.

• Monitor inventory and apply appropriate valuation methods.

7. Financial Analysis:

• Provide data-driven financial insights to support executive decision-making.

• Analyze profitability, liquidity, and operational efficiency.

8. Leadership & Mentorship:

• Supervise and mentor junior accounting staff, ensuring adherence to accounting best practices.

• Conduct training sessions on evolving accounting procedures and standards.

9. Compliance & Internal Controls:

• Uphold strict compliance with internal policies and regulatory standards.

• Identify gaps in existing processes and propose improvements.

10. Software & Systems Proficiency:

• Leverage ERP and accounting software for efficient financial management.

• Stay updated on modern accounting tools and digital innovations.

Skills Required:

• Strong technical accounting knowledge (GAAP/IFRS).

• Sharp analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Exceptional attention to detail.

• Clear and effective communication—both written and verbal.

• Proven leadership and mentorship abilities.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.

• CPA, CMA, or equivalent professional certification (preferred).

• 7–15 years of progressive experience in accounting or finance roles.
