About the Role
J10 Consulting is partnering with a renowned multinational project management consultancy to find a skilled Mechanical Inspector for a major project in Dubai. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in the mechanical inspection of new retail, commercial, and mixed-use construction projects, particularly in the UAE. This role is available for immediate joining on an initial 5-month fixed-term contract, outsourced through J10 Consulting.

Key Responsibilities:

• Review and manage Inspection Requests (IRs) submitted by contractors, ensuring timely action.

• Analyze and verify shop drawings against contract specifications, local codes, and international best practices.

• Identify and report discrepancies between contractor work and approved designs, ensuring corrective actions are taken.

• Monitor and ensure quality control, safety standards, and environmental compliance on-site.

• Keep detailed records of daily site activities, including progress photos and reports.

• Prepare surveillance reports and Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) for any deficiencies in work.

• Ensure effective coordination of mechanical works with other disciplines on the project.

• Provide technical expertise and guidance to resolve site issues as they arise.

Requirements:

• Degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering.

• 3-5+ years of relevant experience in construction supervision for retail, commercial, and mixed-use projects.

• Previous experience working with a recognized design consultancy or PMC company.

• Strong communication skills (written and verbal) and a collaborative approach to working with stakeholders.

• Proficient in reading blueprints and construction specifications.
