Outlier is seeking Japanese voice actors for an AI training project aimed at enhancing machine learning models’ understanding of human emotions and communication. This remote, contract-based role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge AI research by recording audio samples that express a variety of tones and emotions.

Responsibilities:

• Record short voice conversations showcasing different emotions, accents, and modulations

• Review and provide feedback on peer recordings

• Edit scripts and ensure accurate delivery

• Maintain high-quality audio standards and professional recordings

• Save and organize recordings using Audacity

Requirements:

• Native-level fluency in Japanese

• Ability to express diverse emotions vocally

• Quiet recording environment without background noise

• Access to a home recording studio

• Experience in voice-related work (e.g., podcasting, narration, voiceover)

• Use of a high-fidelity microphone

Nice to Have:

• Acting experience (on-screen or stage), vocal training, or musical background

• Audio interface device for enhanced sound quality

Compensation:

• Up to $40 USD per hour for core project voice recordings
