• The Train Driver at Etihad Rail is responsible for the safe, reliable, and efficient movement of trains on the Etihad Rail network. This includes driving passenger trains, managing the mechanical operation of the train, controlling train speed, and handling operations. The role also involves providing excellent customer service and assisting passengers throughout their journey.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver high service performance, ensuring safe working conditions and practices for all employees and contractors.

• Operate trains safely and reliably, ensuring punctuality and compliance with the Etihad Rail Safety Management System.

• Address irregularities and equipment failures, providing updates to the Senior Train Driver Team Leader.

• Ensure customer issues are handled tactfully, with proper adherence to guidelines and procedures.

• Respond to emergency situations, ensuring passenger safety and security.

• Maintain current train driver competency and perform shunting and train preparation duties.

• Participate in flexible shift patterns as directed by the business.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Academic Qualifications: Must have a Train Driver’s license with a proven track record of successful train driving. A Bachelor’s degree or High School certificate is required.

• Professional Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of OHS standards, European Train Control System (ETCS), and competence management systems.

• Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in driving passenger or freight trains with a perfect safety record.

  • Customer service and passenger assistance experience.

  • Knowledge of ETCS, ECP braking system, and basic mechanical knowledge.

  • Strong planning and analytical skills.

• Other Skills:

  • Fluency in English (written and verbal).

  • Good medical fitness and the ability to pass psychometric evaluations.

  • Full UAE driving license or the ability to achieve competency.

  • IT literate with knowledge of discipline-based railway standards
