Masdar is seeking a Manager of Financial Planning to oversee financial reporting and budgeting for government-funded initiatives. This role involves preparing monthly management reports, ensuring compliance with governmental guidelines, and leading budget submissions. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in financial planning, government reporting, and budgeting, with a deep understanding of international financial standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage the design and preparation of monthly management reports for Government-funded initiatives.

• Report monthly to the CFO and senior finance management on variances and key issues.

• Submit financial reports to government departments (DOF, DOE) and respond to ad-hoc requests.

• Ensure compliance with local reporting requirements, including financial and economic surveys.

• Oversee government initiative budgeting and manage submission processes.

• Coordinate with project managers to track accruals, prepayments, and monthly costs.

• Prepare and support reconciliations, journals, and reports for external audits.

• Lead quarterly and yearly forecasts, ensuring alignment with project goals.

• Provide financial guidance to management regarding budget matters and compliance with regulations.

• Ensure accurate manpower cost submissions for government initiatives.

• Manage drawdown forecasts for government projects to maintain positive cash flow.

What We Are Looking For:

• Experience: 6-8 years of financial planning and reporting, including 3-4 years at a group financial planning level in large multi-national companies, with government reporting experience preferred.

• Skills:

  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills

  • Expertise in ERP systems and financial reporting

  • Deep knowledge of IFRS, accounting processes, and internal controls

  • Familiarity with international auditing standards

  • Strong financial modeling and forecasting capabilities

Educational Qualifications:

• Relevant degree in finance, accounting, or business administration.

• Additional certifications (e.g., CFA, CPA) are a plus.
