Damen Shipyards Group, a leading Dutch family-owned shipbuilding and maritime services company, is hiring a Legal & Compliance Officer for its Middle East Shared Services division in Abu Dhabi. With a legacy dating back to 1927, Damen operates across 34 shipbuilding and repair yards and employs 10,000+ professionals globally.

In this role, you will be responsible for supporting the execution of Damen’s Compliance Program in the Middle East, contributing to a culture of ethics and regulatory compliance. The ideal candidate will have prior experience in ADGM and UAE laws, possess strong analytical and communication skills, and be comfortable working within a multi-lingual international environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support the implementation of the regional compliance strategy

• Conduct internal control checks and manage third-party due diligence, including KYC screenings

• Maintain documentation of internal reviews, compliance audits, and risk assessments

• Provide legal and administrative support to the Group Compliance Team

• Promote adherence to local and international laws, company policies, and ethical standards

Requirements:

• Paralegal qualification with a minimum of 2 years of experience in legal/compliance, specifically with ADGM & UAE regulations

• Proactive, independent, and persuasive communicator

• Strong analytical and organizational skills

• Comfortable working in a diverse, international team setting

• Fluent in English (Arabic is a plus)
