The UN Environment Programme (UNEP) is seeking a Programme Management Officer (P-3 level) for a full-time, on-site position in Abu Dhabi. This role is within the CMS Dugong MOU Secretariat, under the CMS Office – Abu Dhabi, and is part of a four-year project funded by the International Climate Initiative (IKI), focusing on the conservation of seagrass meadows and biodiversity in five Southeast Asian countries.

The selected candidate will work closely under the supervision of the Dugong Project Director, supporting project implementation, stakeholder engagement, and integration of seagrass ecosystem services into local policies and business models. The position is performance-based and tied to the final year of the ongoing IKI project.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support coordination and delivery of project objectives across five countries

• Collaborate with international and local stakeholders on policy and conservation goals

• Assist in integrating ecosystem service values into national frameworks and business strategies

• Contribute to the reporting, monitoring, and evaluation of the IKI project activities

• Support communication, outreach, and administrative tasks as needed

Required Qualifications:

• Advanced university degree (Master’s or equivalent) in environmental sciences, public administration, international relations, or related fields

• Minimum 5 years of progressively responsible experience in project or programme management, preferably in environmental conservation or biodiversity initiatives

• Experience in international and cross-cultural team environments

• Familiarity with UN systems and CMS instruments is an asset

• Ability to work independently and manage diverse project activities

• Fluency in English (required); other UN languages are an asset
