AtkinsRéalis, a global leader in engineering and sustainable infrastructure solutions, is hiring a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join its Dubai-based team. This role focuses on managing and overseeing mechanical engineering aspects of a large-scale railway project from design validation to construction supervision. The ideal candidate will ensure mechanical systems—HVAC, fire protection, plumbing—are aligned with engineering standards and project requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

• Validate mechanical designs and ensure compliance with project and industry standards

• Supervise installation, testing, and commissioning of HVAC, fire protection, and plumbing systems

• Maintain quality control throughout installation and commissioning

• Review and approve shop drawings, material submittals, and technical documentation

• Conduct site assessments and liaise with contractors, consultants, and stakeholders

• Provide technical support and risk mitigation during construction phases

• Prepare mechanical reports, presentations, and documentation

• Lead coordination meetings and monitor contractor performance

• Provide guidance and mentoring to junior engineers

Qualifications & Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (Master’s preferred)

• Professional certifications such as PE or equivalent are a strong plus

• 10+ years of mechanical engineering experience in infrastructure or transport projects

• 2–5 years as a Design Engineer with hands-on HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems

• Strong knowledge of BMS systems, mechanical principles, and industry regulations

• Proficient in AutoCAD/BIM software

• Experience in railway sector projects is highly desirable

Preferred Skills:

• Excellent analytical, leadership, and communication skills

• Ability to manage high-pressure, multi-task environments

• Strong command of mechanical engineering software and project coordination tools

• Familiarity with sustainable designs and LEED certification is a bonus
