V.Group, a global leader in ship management and marine services, is hiring a Technical Superintendent for its Abu Dhabi operations. This is a full-time, on-site contract role focused on ensuring the safe, efficient, and cost-effective technical operation of vessels under management. The Technical Superintendent will manage vessel performance, coordinate maintenance and repairs, ensure regulatory compliance, and act as the key technical liaison between the vessel, owners, and fleet management.
Key Responsibilities:

Oversee the technical performance of assigned vessels, including equipment, maintenance, and compliance.

Ensure vessels operate safely and efficiently within budget and contractual terms.

Maintain regular contact with the vessels for technical support and mobilization activities.

Ensure all statutory and classification surveys are conducted as required.

Monitor preventive and corrective maintenance, analyzing any technical breakdowns for continuous improvement.

Prepare and maintain weekly reports on vessel performance and technical status.

Coordinate ship repair and dry-docking activities, ensuring safety, quality, and cost-efficiency.

Lead condition assessments and liaise with insurance and owners in the event of major breakdowns.

Supervise onboard technical crew and participate in performance appraisals.

Ensure compliance with internal Vessel Management Systems and report non-conformities.
Qualifications & Skills:

Proven experience in a similar role within the marine or offshore industry.

Strong knowledge of ship technical operations, maintenance, and international maritime regulations.

Good communication and interpersonal skills to liaise effectively with internal teams, vessel crew, and clients.

Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities.

Basic financial acumen with budget management experience.

Flexibility in handling ad hoc situations and proactive in offering solutions.

Strong decision-making and leadership capabilities.
