Job Overview:

Our client, a leading company within the Engineering Consultancy sector, is seeking a highly skilled Accounting Lead (Assistant Manager) to manage and oversee financial accounting operations across the regional business. The successful candidate will ensure full compliance with financial regulations and reporting standards while driving efficient transactional processes and internal controls.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and maintain all financial accounting activities in alignment with international and regional standards

• Prepare and review quarterly VAT returns, liaising with regulatory bodies as required

• Manage accounts payable, receivable, general ledger, and reconciliations

• Monitor cash flow, working capital, and work-in-progress (WIP) reports

• Maintain and optimize SAP ERP systems for accurate financial data recording and reporting

• Coordinate with internal and external auditors to ensure compliance and timely audits

• Act as a finance business partner to management by preparing MIS and group-level reports

• Ensure policy adherence related to financial operations and internal controls

Requirements:

• Professional qualification in Accounting: ACA, ACCA, CPA, CIMA or equivalent

• 5–8 years of accounting experience in professional services or consulting industries

• In-depth understanding of regional tax regulations, including UAE VAT

• Strong working knowledge of SAP ERP and advanced Microsoft Excel skills

• Proven ability to liaise with senior stakeholders, auditors, and cross-functional teams

• Exceptional analytical, organizational, and communication skills

• Experience in cash flow forecasting, working capital, and audit preparation
