DCT Abu Dhabi is seeking a Unit Head of Programmes to oversee the development and execution of NHMAD’s public engagement programmes. The role involves creating diverse and inclusive activities, including educational initiatives, community programmes, and special events, to enhance the museum’s impact. The successful candidate will collaborate with internal teams and external partners to deliver innovative and accessible programmes for various audience demographics, fostering lifelong learning and deepening audience engagement.
Key Responsibilities:

Programme Strategy & Development: Develop a comprehensive public programming strategy in alignment with NHMAD’s mission. Oversee diverse programmes, workshops, talks, and community initiatives for different visitor segments.

Educational & Public Engagement Initiatives: Work with teams to integrate scientific and cultural content into programming. Oversee specialist-led sessions and immersive experiences that enhance visitor learning.

Programme Delivery & Quality Assurance: Ensure all programmes meet international museum standards, implement feedback mechanisms to assess effectiveness, and lead innovation through new technologies and interactive formats.

Partnerships & Collaboration: Establish and maintain relationships with cultural and educational institutions, industry leaders, and external educators to enrich programming opportunities.

Operational & Resource Management: Oversee budgeting, staffing, and logistical planning for public programmes. Lead a team focused on youth programmes, lifelong learning initiatives, and visitor engagement.
Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Museum Studies, Education, Public Engagement, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).

Experience: 7+ years in public programming, museum engagement, or cultural event management, with a strong background in interactive experiences and educational initiatives.

Excellent public engagement, storytelling, and visitor experience design skills.

Proficiency in budgeting, programme evaluation, and strategic planning.
