Junior Urban Designer – Full-Time | Dubai, UAE

Job Overview:
We are looking for a passionate and driven Junior Urban Designer to join our team in Dubai. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in urban design, planning, or architecture, with a deep interest in placemaking, city-scale thinking, and the built environment. You will contribute to creative and technical design tasks across all stages of projects, from conceptual development to design documentation, while learning from experienced professionals in a collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in generating and developing design concepts and final deliverables for urban planning and development projects.

• Create detailed documentation, presentation materials, and visualizations including 3D models, illustrative plans, diagrams, spreadsheets, and infographics.

• Support project coordination efforts with consultants and internal teams by integrating their inputs into design documentation.

• Participate in business development tasks and contribute to special projects as needed.

• Attend client and consultant meetings under the guidance of project leadership to foster professional relationships.

• Manage tasks according to project timelines and report progress or challenges to senior team members.

• Understand project schedules, budgets, and deliverables while contributing to the efficiency of project execution.

• Supervise and delegate work to graduate urban designers, landscape architects, BIM technicians, and administrative staff as required.

Candidate Requirements:

Education & Experience:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Urban Design, City Planning, Architecture, or Landscape Architecture.

• Minimum of 1 year of professional experience in a related design role.

• A strong and diverse portfolio showcasing design and technical capabilities.

Skills & Competencies:

• Strong creative and conceptual thinking with a passion for shaping urban spaces.

• Understanding of urban design, placemaking, and community planning principles.

• Effective communication skills – written, verbal, and graphic.

• Ability to work independently on routine tasks and thrive in a collaborative team setting.

• Proficient in AutoCAD, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign), and MS Office.

• Familiarity with Rhino is an added advantage.

• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced work environment.

• Enthusiastic about learning and growing within a multidisciplinary design practice.

Salary:
AED 16,000 to 19,000 per month (inclusive of fixed allowances)
