ENGIE Middle East is hiring a Head of Projects for its Renewables & Flexible Generation Business Unit across the GCC region (UAE, Oman, Qatar). This full-time, on-site leadership role is based in Dubai and involves managing the safe and effective delivery of construction, demolition, and extension projects from business development through commissioning and handover. The role also ensures project alignment with ENGIE’s safety, operational, and financial standards.
Key Responsibilities:

Oversee execution of greenfield, brownfield, and decommissioning projects across GCC

Assure health and safety compliance per ENGIE Group and regional standards

Coordinate with Construction Directors, CEOs of SPVs, and functional teams

Develop project risk registers and HSE strategies
-
Support operations handover and readiness planning
-
Monitor and review weekly/monthly project performance reports
-
Manage stakeholder relationships and interface with lenders, partners, and agencies
-
Participate in board meetings and audit committees of Project Companies

Define execution strategies, resource mobilization, and contracting methods
-
Promote project management culture and best practice sharing
-
Coordinate with international PMO and ensure lessons learned are captured
Qualifications & Experience:
-
Engineering degree or equivalent
-
Minimum 20 years of professional experience, including 10+ years in construction and 5+ years in the energy or water sector

Experience in GCC is preferred
-
Proven leadership in team/resource management
-
NEBOSH IGC 1 & 2 Certification
Required Business & Technical Skills:

Strong knowledge of EPC contracts and power project financing structures
-
Understanding of construction risk areas (cost, time, quality)

Familiarity with industrial project management standards and governance

Joint-venture organization and stakeholder coordination
-
Strong leadership, negotiation, and decision-making skills in multicultural environments

Travel Requirement: Frequent travel within and outside GCC
