GEMS International School, Al Khail, is seeking an experienced Drama Teacher to join its Secondary team for the 2025 academic year (August start). The successful candidate will play a crucial role in delivering a dynamic and engaging drama curriculum, inspiring students to develop their theatrical skills, confidence, and creativity.

Key Responsibilities:

🎭 Lesson Planning & Teaching

• Plan and deliver engaging drama lessons that cater to different learning styles and abilities.

• Utilize creative teaching strategies to inspire and motivate students.

• Integrate technology and media to enhance the classroom experience.

📚 Curriculum & Student Development

• Develop and maintain teaching resources, assessment plans, and year curricula.

• Support late-entering students, ESL learners, and gifted students through tailored teaching strategies.

• Promote cultural awareness, self-discipline, and a love for learning.

🎤 Extracurricular Activities & School Events

• Organize and lead school plays, drama competitions, and performances.

• Participate in co-curricular and extra-curricular activities to enhance students’ artistic expression.

📝 Collaboration & Communication

• Work closely with colleagues to develop innovative teaching materials.

• Communicate regularly with parents about student progress and school events.

• Assist in planning and organizing inter-house competitions, concerts, and school functions.

Requirements & Qualifications:

✔ Education: B.Ed, PGCE, PGDE, or an equivalent teaching qualification in Drama.
✔ Experience: Minimum 3 years of demonstrable Drama teaching experience (IB curriculum experience preferred but not mandatory).
✔ Skills:

• Passionate about drama education and student engagement.

• Strong classroom management and performance direction skills.
