Team Leader (Legal)

Al Tamimi & Company is seeking a Team Leader (Legal) to supervise a group of secretaries within a legal department while also providing secretarial support to senior legal professionals. This is a key role responsible for day-to-day administrative, operational, and finance-related tasks in line with firm policies.


Key Responsibilities

  • Provide secretarial support to Partners and legal staff, including document preparation, transcription, and correspondence.

  • Supervise and manage a team of secretaries, ensuring administrative efficiency across the department.

  • Maintain legal documentation and oversee document filing procedures.

  • Support client billing activities, handle timesheets, manage matter opening/closing, and address billing inquiries.

  • Participate in the recruitment and training of secretarial staff.

  • Attend and contribute to internal meetings; take minutes and support document amendments and proofreading.

  • Enforce adherence to internal policies and act as a role model for the team.

  • Collaborate closely with Partners, Heads of Departments, and various teams to align on departmental objectives.


Qualifications & Experience

  • 8+ years of experience in a professional secretarial role, with at least 5 years supporting senior-level professionals.

  • Proven team management experience (minimum of 2 direct reports).

  • Prior experience in a legal firm or department is highly desirable.

  • Strong command of legal terminology and office procedures.

  • Typing speed of minimum 40 words per minute.

  • Excellent communication skills, in both English and Arabic (preferred).

  • Bachelor’s degree, associate’s degree, or equivalent required.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and legal documentation software.
