Advanced Concepts, a high-tech division of EDGE Group—one of the world’s leading advanced technology and defense conglomerates headquartered in Abu Dhabi— is hiring a Specialist – FPV Drone to support UAV fixed-wing flight testing. EDGE Group is renowned for leveraging Fourth Industrial Revolution technologies to build sovereign defense capabilities and develop disruptive solutions for global export and national security.

In this full-time, on-site role, the Specialist will be responsible for operating, integrating, and evaluating high-speed FPV drones (over 100 km/h) during flight test campaigns, ensuring peak performance and operational safety in complex environments.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate and pilot FPV drones (e.g., DJI platforms) at speeds exceeding 100 km/h during test flights.

• Assist UAV Fixed-Wing Flight Testing Team with pre‑flight preparation, telemetry analysis, and post‑flight reviews.

• Assemble, calibrate, and optimize drone components: frames, flight controllers, video transmission systems.

• Conduct field testing and iterative improvements of drone systems.

• Troubleshoot hardware/software issues to maintain system reliability.

• Collaborate with engineers, flight operators, and safety officers to align with project goals.

• Maintain detailed documentation of test procedures, configurations, and flight data.

• Adhere to safety protocols and regulatory standards at all times.

• Edit and compile flight videos using Final Cut Pro and Adobe Suite for technical and visual deliverables.

Qualifications & Skills Required:

• Strong hands-on experience in FPV drone assembly, integration, and flight.

• Demonstrable ability to pilot high-speed drones in complex environments.

• Technical proficiency in drone hardware (frames, controllers, telemetry).

• Expertise in telemetry monitoring and flight data analysis.

• Skilled in drone video editing using Final Cut Pro and Adobe software.

• Strong problem-solving abilities and methodical documentation habits.

• Excellent communication and teamwork skills within interdisciplinary groups.

• Thorough understanding and adherence to safety protocols and UAE aviation regulations.
