The Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi (DCT Abu Dhabi) is seeking a talented and experienced Social Media Unit Head to lead its dynamic digital communication efforts. In this senior role, you will drive social media strategy, content creation, performance analysis, and digital campaign execution to promote Abu Dhabi’s cultural and tourism narrative on global platforms.
As Social Media Unit Head, you will oversee the management of all social media platforms and communities, ensuring alignment with DCT’s objectives and brand identity. The role demands strategic thinking, leadership, and a deep understanding of digital and performance marketing metrics, while also requiring active engagement with both internal stakeholders and external partners such as creative and media agencies.
Key Responsibilities:
Content & Campaign Planning

Lead the creation of centralized creative assets for consistent branding across markets.

Provide strategic guidance for localized social media execution.
Content & Campaign Execution
-
Manage and monitor all social media channels and online communities.

Oversee the visual identity and user experience across digital platforms, including websites and mobile applications.
Measurement & Performance
-
Define KPIs for paid, owned, and earned media touchpoints.

Use MarTech solutions and data insights to refine campaign strategies and improve results.

Continuously assess campaign effectiveness and implement improvements.
Strategic & Operational Responsibilities

Align social media efforts with organizational goals through effective business planning and horizontal integration with other departments.

Manage section budgets, ensuring financial performance aligns with targets.

Implement and monitor policy, process, and compliance standards.
Leadership & Talent Development
-
Set individual and team objectives, providing coaching and performance feedback.

Drive employee engagement, uphold organizational values, and nurture a value-driven culture.

Lead talent development efforts to maintain a high-performing, skilled team.
Reporting & Communication

Produce timely and accurate reports aligning with DCT’s performance and quality standards.

Collaborate effectively with internal teams (Marketing, Strategy, Communications) and external partners (agencies and vendors).
Qualifications:
-
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, or a relevant field.

4–6 years of experience in a similar social media or digital leadership role.
-
Minimum 3 years in a managerial capacity.
Skills Required:

Full professional English proficiency (written and spoken); Arabic is a plus.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).

Expertise in social media and digital marketing tools/platforms.

Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize tasks, and work under tight deadlines.

Strong stakeholder communication and presentation skills.

High attention to detail and administrative efficiency.

Demonstrated knowledge of production, creative processes, and digital content trends.
