Hermès, the iconic French luxury house, is seeking a detail-oriented and strategic Senior Retail Planner to join its team in Dubai. This full-time position is ideal for an experienced retail planning professional with a strong analytical background, a passion for data-driven decision-making, and a deep understanding of merchandise planning, inventory optimization, and cross-functional collaboration in a luxury retail environment.
This role will be instrumental in managing inventory performance, forecasting demand, and supporting open-to-buy (OTB) decisions to ensure optimal stock availability, aligned with Hermès’ global retail strategy.
Key Responsibilities:
Demand, Supply Forecast & Replenishment Management

Monitor inventory levels of Permanent Stock Items, Intemporals, and central stock.

Analyze historical sales data and trends to proactively identify risks and opportunities.

Define and adjust replenishment parameters (Min/Max levels) in coordination with Retail Planning and Merchandising Managers.

Account for product trends, key periods, and delivery delays in replenishment settings.
-
Monitor stockroom capacities to avoid understock or overstock situations.
-
Identify slow-moving inventory and align on action plans with the Merchandising team.

Collaborate with Logistics and IT teams to ensure efficient automated replenishment.
Reporting & Forecasting

Regularly review and analyze BI reports (sales, stock, value equation, etc.).

Deliver insights through activity reports and ad hoc analyses by product, category, and store.

Forecast demand using market trends and customer preferences.
-
Flag inventory risks and suggest corrective or proactive actions.

Propose destocking plans in alignment with Hermès group policy.
OTB and Buying Management Support

Validate key assumptions in the OTB tool (exchange rates, PSI, margins, etc.) with the Planning Manager.

Assist in defining OTB strategy during seasonal previews and buying sessions (Podium Group).

Ensure OTB aligns with business goals, stock targets, and feedback from Retail Merchandisers.

Track buying vs. OTB and highlight opportunities or overexposures.
Cross-Functional Collaboration

Partner with Stores, Operations, and Retail Merchandising teams to align inventory strategy with broader company objectives.

Maintain close communication with Stock Control teams on storage capacities and stock levels.

Liaise with the Europe Planning community to adopt best practices and harmonize strategies.
Requirements:

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Merchandising, or a related field.

Experience: Minimum 3 years in merchandise planning, inventory management, or retail allocation.

Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Power BI for data analysis and forecasting.

Strong analytical skills with a focus on decision-making based on complex datasets.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively across departments.

Strategic mindset with the ability to anticipate and react to market dynamics.

High attention to detail and familiarity with retail math and KPIs.
