Senior Legal and Compliance Officer (ضابط أول الشؤون القانونية والامتثال)

The General Pension and Social Security Authority (GPSSA) is hiring a Senior Legal and Compliance Officer to ensure the authority’s operations comply with applicable laws, regulations, and governance standards within the UAE pension sector. The role includes offering specialized legal advice, monitoring compliance, overseeing risk management, and ensuring that GPSSA’s internal policies align with current legislation. This is a full-time, on-site position based in Abu Dhabi.

Key Responsibilities:

Legal Advisory & Support:

  • Provide specialized legal advice on laws, regulations, and compliance requirements related to pensions.

  • Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, agreements, and legal documents.

  • Support internal departments with legal matters and implementation of policies.

  • Resolve legal inquiries and disputes while ensuring alignment with applicable laws and GPSSA policies.

Legislation Monitoring & Compliance:

  • Track legislative developments at the local and federal level affecting pension operations.

  • Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and decrees.

  • Distribute legal updates and legislative changes to relevant internal departments.

Risk Management:

  • Identify legal and compliance risks and recommend effective mitigation strategies.

  • Conduct risk assessments to ensure adherence to governance and regulatory frameworks.

  • Investigate compliance breaches and implement corrective actions when needed.

Compliance Framework Management:

  • Develop and implement compliance frameworks, policies, and procedures tailored to the pension sector.

  • Conduct regular audits and reviews to ensure regulatory adherence.

  • Deliver training and awareness sessions on compliance and regulatory updates for staff.

Self-Management Responsibilities:

  • Set performance goals at the start of the year and ensure they are met.

  • Identify and pursue relevant training and development opportunities.

  • Maintain high proficiency across all job-related competencies and skills.

  • Stay updated with industry trends, legal developments, and technologies through continuous learning.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Law or a related field.

  • Minimum 4 years of experience in legal and compliance management within the UAE.
