Job Title: Rolling Stock Resident Engineer
Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Rolling Stock Resident Engineer to oversee the inspection, approval, and production progress of rolling stock vehicles manufactured in China. This critical role ensures compliance with project specifications, facilitates communication between stakeholders, and supports the successful delivery of high-quality rail vehicles to the UAE.
The ideal candidate will have extensive expertise in rolling stock manufacturing, strong quality assurance skills, and the ability to coordinate across multicultural teams.
Key Responsibilities:

Conduct inspections of each rolling stock vehicle before shipment to the UAE project site.

Approve vehicles based on documented observations, ensuring compliance with approved designs and standards.

Provide timely feedback to the PMC Team, client, and stakeholders regarding production observations and required amendments.

Ensure manufacturers respond within 7 days with action plans addressing any identified issues.

Visit manufacturing facilities, suppliers, and subcontractors to monitor progress and adherence to safety and quality standards.

Facilitate safe access to manufacturing sites for inspections, client visits, and quality reviews.

Review and verify manufacturing records, processes, and technical documentation to prepare progress and risk reports.

Oversee testing activities for rolling stock and related subsystems, coordinating with signaling, telecommunications, and power supply teams.

Ensure all operational training manuals and documentation meet required standards for O&M teams.

Work closely with the Rolling Stock and Rail Systems team within the PMC and client organizations.

Be primarily based in China, with occasional travel to the UAE as needed.
Key Requirements:

Based in Changzhou, China (preferred) and open to occasional travel to Dubai.

Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field.
-
10–15 years’ experience in rolling stock manufacturing, design review, testing, and commissioning.

Proven understanding of rolling stock manufacturing processes and quality assurance standards.

Strong communication skills in English and Chinese (essential).

Ability to collaborate effectively with international teams and stakeholders.
