Job Title: Raw Materials Officer

Job Description:

Overview:
Our client is seeking an Officer – Raw Materials to oversee the activities related to the receipt, inspection, sampling, and storage of raw materials within a pharmaceutical manufacturing environment. This role ensures that raw materials comply with quality and regulatory standards before being released for production, while also maintaining traceability and data integrity throughout the supply chain process.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Material Inspection: Receive and inspect incoming raw material shipments to ensure they meet purchase orders and Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) specifications.

  • Sampling & Documentation: Perform identity checks, sampling, and documentation of raw materials in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and compendial standards.

  • Coordination with QC: Collaborate with Quality Control (QC) to submit samples for testing, track testing status, and review Certificates of Analysis (CoAs).

  • Inventory Management: Enter goods receipt and batch-lot data into the ERP system and maintain accurate inventory records.

  • Material Segregation: Manage quarantine, approved, and rejected material segregation; initiate deviation reports when necessary.

  • Stock Monitoring: Monitor stock levels and trigger replenishment requests while ensuring proper stock rotation to minimize expiry risks.

  • Storage & Labeling: Maintain clean and organized storage areas with proper labeling, and control temperature and humidity as required.

  • Audit-Ready Documentation: Generate and maintain audit-ready documents such as batch records, sampling logs, and inspection reports.

  • Supplier Audits: Participate in supplier audits and material return processes in collaboration with Procurement and QA teams.

  • Inventory Support: Support cycle counts, physical inventories, and discrepancy investigations.

  • Compliance: Adhere strictly to cGMP, Good Distribution Practices (GDP), and safety guidelines in all raw material activities.

Must Have:

  • Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy, Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or a related field.

  • Experience: 0–2 years of experience in raw-materials handling or QA/QC support within a pharmaceutical or regulated manufacturing environment.

  • Technical Knowledge: Familiarity with compendial raw-material testing and sampling procedures.

  • Regulatory Knowledge: Understanding of GMP/GDP requirements, CoA review, and ERP inventory transactions.

  • Inspection Skills: Basic understanding of chemical and physical inspection techniques.

  • Documentation & Data Integrity: Proficiency in documentation practices and maintaining data integrity.

Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong knowledge of compendial raw-material testing and sampling procedures.

  • Familiarity with GMP/GDP requirements, CoA review, and ERP inventory management.

  • Basic understanding of chemical and physical inspection techniques.

  • Proficient in documentation and ensuring data integrity principles are met.
