Wood, a global leader in consulting and engineering services for the energy and materials sectors, is currently hiring a Project Manager for its Engineering Hub in Sharjah, UAE. This is a full-time, on-site position requiring occasional business travel. The role offers the chance to lead significant brownfield oil and gas projects across the Middle East region, supporting energy transition and decarbonization goals.

The successful candidate will oversee all aspects of project execution—engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning—ensuring safe, timely, and profitable delivery. The Project Manager will also play a critical role in team leadership, client relationship management, and strategic planning.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the delivery of brownfield oil and gas projects onshore, covering the full project lifecycle.

• Manage engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, and closeout activities.

• Maintain project performance (schedule, cost, and quality) in alignment with contract and client expectations.

• Lead project teams and ensure individual responsibilities and milestones are achieved.

• Foster a safety-first culture across project execution.

• Coordinate with clients, internal stakeholders, contractors, and suppliers to ensure alignment.

• Maintain strong financial oversight, including budget control, forecasting, and P&L responsibility.

• Apply change management procedures and mitigate risks.

• Lead stakeholder engagement and ensure compliance with company and client standards.

• Support innovation through digital solutions and workshare strategies.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (B.S. or equivalent) from an accredited institution.

• PMP, APM, or equivalent certification preferred.

• Minimum 15 years of experience in major brownfield oil & gas projects, with at least 5 years in a similar role.

Desired Skills & Experience:

• Demonstrated success managing EPC/EPCM contracts, especially in the GCC region.

• Deep understanding of project planning, budgeting, and commercial management.

• Skilled in stakeholder and team management in multicultural and multidiscipline environments.

• Strong knowledge of project performance indicators, success metrics, and risk management.

• Familiarity with international standards, contract management, and digital engineering tools.

• Excellent communication, leadership, and negotiation skills.

• Strong safety orientation and ability to resolve conflicts and maintain team cohesion.
