Job Overview:
Mandarin Oriental is seeking an Order Taker, In Room Dining to ensure smooth communication between guests, kitchen, and service teams while delivering flawless in-room dining experiences. The role involves handling guest orders, providing recommendations, coordinating with departments for VIP requests, and ensuring superior guest satisfaction in line with MOHG’s Legendary Quality Experiences (LQEs).


Key Responsibilities

  • Handle guest calls, take accurate food and beverage orders, and provide suitable recommendations.

  • Communicate effectively with kitchen staff and IRD servers to ensure timely preparation and delivery.

  • Advise guests on preparation and delivery timelines, including handling restaurant reservations if needed.

  • Support IRD Manager in coordinating VIP amenities and liaise with Front Office for guest requirements.

  • Track orders, follow up on delivery and trolley collection to avoid delays.

  • Assist in setting up, clearing in-room dining tables, and daily mise-en-place preparation.

  • Maintain knowledge of POS systems, billing, and cashiering procedures as per hotel standards.

  • Record guest preferences, special requests, or allergies and communicate them to the team.

  • Ensure compliance with MOHG service standards, creating memorable “WOW” guest experiences.

  • Resolve guest complaints when possible and escalate to the manager when required.

  • Support team members with operational tasks and maintain clear communication across departments.


Requirements

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills; articulate phone manner.

  • Basic knowledge of food and beverages with ability to provide recommendations.

  • Familiarity with POS systems and cashiering procedures preferred.

  • Computer skills including MS Office are an advantage.

  • Ability to multitask, handle long hours, and maintain operational excellence.

  • Previous experience in In Room Dining or customer service in hospitality preferred.

  • Pleasant, polite, and guest-focused personality with strong teamwork spirit.
