Canonical, the publisher of Ubuntu and a global leader in open-source software, is hiring an In-house Search Lead to drive senior talent acquisition strategy across their global teams. This is a full-time remote role open to candidates based in the EMEA region.
Role Overview:
Join Canonical’s Talent Science team and take the lead in developing executive search strategies, coaching senior stakeholders, and refining hiring practices to attract world-class leadership talent. The ideal candidate will have deep experience in executive search within the tech industry and a passion for data-driven hiring and diversity.
Key Responsibilities:

Develop and implement sourcing strategies for senior leadership roles.

Coach Canonical’s leadership team on headhunting and sourcing best practices.

Conduct market mapping and drive real-time talent analytics.

Conduct behavioral interviews using psychometric and competency-based techniques.

Monitor hiring pipeline efficiency and ensure world-class candidate experience.

Partner with stakeholders to ensure effective and inclusive hiring practices.
Key Requirements:

Experience in senior talent acquisition from an executive search firm or in-house search team, ideally within the tech industry.

Proven ability to coach and train senior executives in sourcing and interviewing practices.

Proficient in behavioral interviewing and psychometric assessments.

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Psychology or a related people-focused subject.

High school-level Math proficiency; strong analytical skills.

Familiarity with tools like Greenhouse ATS, Thomas International, and LinkedIn talent modules.

Strong organizational skills and self-discipline for remote work.

Willingness to travel 2–4 times a year for company events.
