In-house Search Lead (Remote, EMEA)

Canonical, the publisher of Ubuntu and a global leader in open-source software, is hiring an In-house Search Lead to drive senior talent acquisition strategy across their global teams. This is a full-time remote role open to candidates based in the EMEA region.

Role Overview:
Join Canonical’s Talent Science team and take the lead in developing executive search strategies, coaching senior stakeholders, and refining hiring practices to attract world-class leadership talent. The ideal candidate will have deep experience in executive search within the tech industry and a passion for data-driven hiring and diversity.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement sourcing strategies for senior leadership roles.

  • Coach Canonical’s leadership team on headhunting and sourcing best practices.

  • Conduct market mapping and drive real-time talent analytics.

  • Conduct behavioral interviews using psychometric and competency-based techniques.

  • Monitor hiring pipeline efficiency and ensure world-class candidate experience.

  • Partner with stakeholders to ensure effective and inclusive hiring practices.

Key Requirements:

  • Experience in senior talent acquisition from an executive search firm or in-house search team, ideally within the tech industry.

  • Proven ability to coach and train senior executives in sourcing and interviewing practices.

  • Proficient in behavioral interviewing and psychometric assessments.

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Psychology or a related people-focused subject.

  • High school-level Math proficiency; strong analytical skills.

  • Familiarity with tools like Greenhouse ATS, Thomas International, and LinkedIn talent modules.

  • Strong organizational skills and self-discipline for remote work.

  • Willingness to travel 2–4 times a year for company events.
