ENGIE Deutschland, a global leader in low-carbon energy and services, is seeking an experienced Executive Managing Director (EMD/CEO) to lead a greenfield OCGT power generation project (1,440 MW capacity) located near Abu Dhabi. The EMD will be responsible for overseeing the company’s operations, managing stakeholder relations, ensuring compliance with regulations, driving project execution, and delivering sustainable business performance aligned with ENGIE’s carbon-neutral goals.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead overall company management including recruitment, operations, policies, and facilities in alignment with the Board of Directors and long-term business plans.

• Represent the company externally to authorities, lenders, regulators, and stakeholders.

• Manage EPC contractor coordination and ensure proper execution of commercial and financial contracts.

• Oversee permits, legal compliance, HSE strategy, and environmental initiatives.

• Own P&L responsibility, budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.

• Manage risks, plan mitigation strategies, and secure Board approvals for key business decisions.

• Foster a safety-first culture and ensure emergency preparedness.

• Lead human resources management, set objectives, evaluate personnel, and implement salary/incentive policies.

• Ensure alignment with ENGIE’s ethics, governance, and stock market compliance (if applicable).

• Act as an ambassador for cultural transformation and operational excellence.

Internal: Board of Directors, Shareholders, Company staff
External: EPC & O&M Contractors, Owner’s Engineers, Insurers, Advisors, Government Entities, Banks/Lenders, OEMs

Qualifications & Experience:

• University degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, MBA preferred.

• 15+ years senior leadership experience in the power or energy sector.

• 3-5 years in a comparable executive role.

• Strong technical, financial, and managerial expertise.

• Experience managing public and third-party relationships.

• Proven track record of managing large-scale power projects and teams.

• Excellent command of English.
