Credit Team Leader – Underwriting

Swisslinx Middle East is a leading recruitment firm representing an international trade insurance company with a strong presence in Dubai. The firm is hiring on behalf of their client for a strategic leadership position within their credit underwriting division. This is an opportunity to join a global organization at the forefront of trade credit risk management and insurance services.


Role Overview:

We are seeking an experienced and proactive Credit Team Leader – Underwriting to oversee a team of international underwriting professionals. Based in Dubai, this leadership role is central to the organization’s global credit risk strategy, guiding daily underwriting activities, setting country and sector strategies, and collaborating with commercial units across markets.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead, guide, and mentor a diverse Buyer Underwriting Team.

  • Define and adjust country and sector-level underwriting strategies.

  • Monitor and assess global and local economic trends and risks.

  • Oversee daily team operations, including risk assessments and customer service.

  • Collaborate with business units on client and prospect development.

  • Participate in client visits alongside account managers and underwriters.

  • Develop and execute efficiency and automation initiatives in coordination with central teams.

  • Contribute to the development and implementation of the Underwriting Operational Plan.

  • Coordinate with internal teams such as Sales, Special Risk, and Account Management.


Candidate Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree (preferably in Business or Finance) or equivalent experience.

  • Minimum 8 years of experience in credit underwriting, risk analysis, or financial analysis.

  • Proven managerial experience leading underwriting or risk teams.

  • Strong knowledge of commercial dynamics and client relationship management.

  • Excellent communication, leadership, and presentation skills.

  • Fluency in English (written and spoken).

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.

  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally.
