Control System Engineer (Offshore Engineering)

Anotech is hiring a Control System Engineer (Offshore Engineering) for a contract-based, on-site role in Dubai. This is a senior engineering position with a primary focus on leading and executing control and automation system (SAS: PCS, PSD, ESD, F&G) modifications for offshore oil & gas projects, including FPSO redeployments. The successful candidate will be responsible for project planning, design verification, compliance assurance, and oversight of instrumentation and control systems throughout the engineering lifecycle.

This role is ideal for an experienced engineer with a strong technical background in offshore control systems, extensive knowledge of project execution in EICT domains, and the ability to interface with multidisciplinary teams and contractors across global project sites.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and oversee modifications to SAS systems and field instrumentation.

  • Develop and manage SAS modification schedules and ensure alignment with project milestones.

  • Evaluate risks and propose mitigation strategies to ensure timely control system delivery for commissioning.

  • Ensure compliance with contractual, regulatory, and safety standards throughout all control system activities.

  • Review engineering documents (e.g., datasheets, C&E diagrams, specifications, work packages).

  • Collaborate with the PDE operations team and Regulatory Compliance & Verification Lead to ensure lifecycle compliance and documentation.

  • Coordinate procurement packages, technical documentation, and participate in design reviews, HAZIDs, and HAZOPs.

  • Monitor and support mechanical completion, pre-commissioning, and commissioning activities.

  • Provide technical input in audits, inspections, and lessons learned processes.

  • Close out technical queries and action items in internal systems like PIMS.

  • Ensure accurate reporting of project progress, delays, and discrepancies to the EICT Lead.

  • Act as a package engineer and interface closely with other disciplines.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Control Engineering or a related discipline.

  • Minimum 15 years of relevant experience in the control engineering field.

  • Experience as EICT Lead or Instrumentation & Control Lead on offshore projects, preferably FPSO.

  • Familiarity with UK North Sea project standards and ABB control systems is advantageous.

  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.

  • Fluent in English, both written and spoken.

  • Experience working in Middle East or Southeast Asian shipyards is a plus.

  • Assertive and diplomatic in a multidisciplinary and multicultural environment.
