Job Summary:
Barclays is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Business Manager – Investment Banking AVP to join their dynamic team. This is an ideal opportunity for individuals with a background in Investment Banking or adjacent roles, and those eager to take on business management functions. The role will provide a global view of the Investment Banking business at Barclays, with a particular focus on the growing MENA region. The Business Manager will be responsible for both short-term operational support and long-term strategic initiatives to drive transformation and optimize business processes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Business Strategy & Coordination: Collaborate with senior leadership to develop and implement business strategies that align with organizational goals and regulatory requirements.

• Operational Support: Provide short-term operating and administrative leverage to senior business leaders, managing strategic analyses, business planning, budgeting, HR, performance management, and client events.

• Process Improvement: Identify areas for operational improvement, streamline processes, and implement best practices to enhance productivity and effectiveness across the business.

• Financial Reporting & Analysis: Assist in financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and monitoring performance metrics.

• Project & Change Management: Lead and coordinate strategic initiatives, business projects, and change management efforts to optimize business operations.

• Stakeholder Engagement: Serve as the liaison between different business units, fostering collaboration and communication to ensure effective business operations and decision-making.

Required Qualifications & Experience:

• Education: A bachelor’s degree in finance, business administration, or a related field.

• Experience: Previous experience in Investment Banking or Business Management, ideally within the investment banking sector.

• Skills:

  • Proficiency in financial modeling, Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and other relevant software tools.

  • Strong internal and external stakeholder engagement skills.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to assess complex financial data.

  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

Desired Skills:

• Ability to connect the dots and drive processes to ensure the timely delivery of projects and objectives.

• Ability to maintain discretion when handling confidential information.

• Experience in leading collaborative efforts across businesses and regions.

• Flexibility to work outside business hours based on deal priorities.

• Knowledge of the MENA region would be beneficial but is not a necessity.
