Are you passionate about food safety and precision engineering? Emirates Flight Catering is seeking a skilled and experienced X-Ray Technician to ensure operational excellence of food safety X-ray machines in one of the world’s most advanced catering facilities. This role requires strong technical expertise, hands-on experience, and a commitment to safety and quality.

Job Purpose

Ensure optimum efficiency and compliance of X-ray food safety machines, providing expert operational and maintenance support while training staff across production teams. Your role will help uphold the highest standards of food safety at every level.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct hands-on training for machine operators to manage settings and sensitivity per product/menu

• Develop and enforce Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for X-ray machine usage and compliance

• Perform preventive maintenance, calibration, adjustments, testing, and repairs per OEM and FANR guidelines

• Execute root cause analysis and troubleshoot calibration issues to minimize production downtime

• Adjust and program X-ray settings to suit product density and packaging

• Maintain up-to-date calibration records and manage recalibration schedules

• Address and escalate safety concerns related to X-ray operation

• Liaise with food safety, engineering, and production teams to report incidents and maintain machine health

• Prepare and share monthly machine utilization and performance reports

• Also handle SOPs and maintenance for flow wrap, cutlery, crimping, and packing machines

Qualifications & Experience

• Education: Diploma in Engineering

• Certifications: Food Safety X-Ray Machine Operation & Service Certification (e.g., Ishida or equivalent)

• Experience: Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in the food industry operating and servicing X-ray machines

• Expertise: Troubleshooting, training, and preventive maintenance for food safety scanning equipment
