🔧 Role Overview:
We’re looking for a Workshop Foreman to lead the mechanical refurbishment and maintenance operations for offshore pedestal cranes and EOT systems. This role demands strong technical acumen, effective leadership, and a safety-first mindset in a fast-paced workshop environment.
🛠 Key Responsibilities:
🏗 Workshop Supervision

Oversee daily operations: dismantling, inspection, refurbishment, reassembly

Allocate tasks to technicians, ensuring quality and timely delivery

Conduct inspections and quality checks throughout the work process
🔍 Technical Leadership

Guide mechanical and hydraulic repair activities
-
Read and interpret technical drawings and manuals
-
Diagnose and resolve complex technical issues
🧰 Tools & Inventory Management
-
Monitor workshop tools, equipment, and inventory
-
Coordinate procurement of parts with Workshop Manager
-
Keep records of equipment use and maintenance
👥 Team Development

Train and mentor technicians on repair methods and safety practices
-
Foster teamwork and drive continuous improvement
-
Evaluate and report individual/team performance
📑 Reporting & Documentation

Maintain job cards, inspection reports, and checklists
-
Communicate progress, risks, and delays clearly to management

Ensure compliance with technical and HSE standards
📋 Qualifications & Requirements:
✅ Essential:
-
Diploma or certification in Mechanical Engineering or related field
-
5+ years of mechanical repair experience (2+ in a supervisory role)

Solid understanding of offshore pedestal cranes (hydraulics, winches, structural components)
-
Strong ability to read and apply technical drawings and documentation

Practical HSE knowledge in oil & gas operations
-
Excellent problem-solving, leadership, and communication skills
➕ Desirable:

Certifications in crane maintenance, hydraulics, or welding
-
Offshore work experience

Based in a workshop, with occasional offshore site visits

Requires physical stamina and the ability to manage hands-on mechanical work

Must be flexible for extended hours and on-call support during peak project periods
