Maths Mentoring Academy is seeking passionate Science, English, and Mathematics Tutors to deliver one-to-one, in-person tutoring (with some online opportunities). These roles are part of UK government-funded education programmes, offering a chance to make a real difference in students’ lives.
Tutors will work with students across primary and secondary levels, helping them catch up, improve academically, and build confidence. This is a rewarding opportunity with competitive hourly pay (£25–£45), training support, and resources provided.
Responsibilities
Science Tutor
-
Deliver face-to-face tutoring in Biology, Chemistry, and Physics

Support students with targeted lessons to improve understanding

Track, monitor, and report student progress
English Tutor
-
Provide one-on-one tuition in reading, writing, speaking, and listening
-
Support students across Key Stages 1–4 who need extra help
-
Monitor learning outcomes and provide regular feedback
Mathematics Tutor
-
Deliver Maths tuition across primary and secondary levels

Help students strengthen problem-solving and analytical skills

Track academic progress and report results
Qualifications & Skills
-
Valid Enhanced DBS certificate (issued within the last month – mandatory)

Prior experience in tutoring or teaching students preferred

Strong subject knowledge in Science, English, or Mathematics

Qualified teachers or university students with strong academic backgrounds welcome

Excellent communication, adaptability, and patience

Access to reliable transport for local travel
