Key Responsibilities:

  • Capital Management & Allocation:

    • Work with Treasury to determine the optimal capital structure (debt and equity) for the Group’s growth and M&A activities.

    • Ensure efficient capital allocation using the Group’s portfolio optimization model.

  • Valuation & Investment Decisions:

    • Conduct valuations for the Group and individual assets for various purposes, such as raising capital, M&A, and incentive programs.

    • Evaluate investment opportunities and partnerships that align with Chalhoub’s long-term growth strategy.

    • Lead due diligence, negotiations, and support M&A processes, working closely with the Chief Investment Officer.

  • Strategic Partnerships & Market Analysis:

    • Build relationships with non-bank entities, including private equity firms and family funds, to support the Group’s growth.

    • Analyze capital markets and private equity/investment trends to inform decision-making.

  • Integration & Special Projects:

    • Oversee the integration process post-transaction to realize synergies and maximize value.

    • Manage special projects, including divestments and business turnarounds, providing leadership during complex business situations.

  • Leadership & Coaching:

    • Lead and coach the corporate finance team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.

    • Build organizational capacity around value creation and financial management.


Requirements:

  • Education:

    • Master’s degree in Finance, Economics, or a related field.

  • Experience:

    • Minimum of 15 years of experience, including significant leadership roles in multinational corporations or Big 4 firms, especially in M&A.

    • Experience in the retail industry is essential.

    • Proven track record in managing large acquisitions, realizing synergies, and leading post-integration efforts.

  • Skills:

    • Extensive knowledge of financial strategy, capital planning, and valuation.

    • Ability to align strategic initiatives with financial goals.
