Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Traffic Engineer to oversee the planning, evaluation, and approval of traffic detour schemes related to bridge maintenance works across the UAE. This role is critical for ensuring road user safety, regulatory compliance, and the seamless execution of detour implementations. The ideal candidate will have strong technical knowledge of local traffic control regulations and work zone safety practices.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Review and approve Traffic Management Plans (TMPs) for bridge and road maintenance projects

  • Ensure contractor-submitted detour schemes comply with UAE Traffic Control Manuals and local guidelines

  • Conduct field inspections to verify TMP implementation against approved plans

  • Identify non-compliance, safety concerns, or deviations, and document with inspection reports and risk assessments

  • Recommend corrective actions and track their implementation through closure

  • Liaise with project engineers, contractors, traffic authorities, and law enforcement as required

  • Provide expert guidance on traffic flow, work zone safety, and traffic mitigation strategies

  • Maintain records of all TMP reviews, site reports, and stakeholder communications

  • Submit periodic reports on traffic performance, safety issues, and improvement measures


Candidate Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering is mandatory

  • Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in traffic engineering, preferably in bridge or road maintenance environments

  • In-depth knowledge of UAE traffic regulations, manuals, and traffic safety standards

  • Proven experience in reviewing TMPs and conducting traffic safety audits in active work zones

  • Strong communication, documentation, and stakeholder coordination skills

  • Must currently be residing in the UAE
