The Team Lead – Coastal Modelling for the EMEA region will manage a specialized team focused on the development and implementation of advanced ocean and coastal models supporting ports and marine projects globally. The role requires technical leadership, mentoring, innovation in modelling techniques, and collaboration with international project teams to deliver high-quality outputs compliant with regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities:

Lead and mentor the coastal modelling team, fostering professional growth and technical excellence.

Develop and implement numerical coastal models assessing coastal processes.

Coordinate efforts to establish a regional Marine and Coastal centre of expertise.

Collaborate on large-scale international projects, integrating modelling expertise into marine and port infrastructure planning.

Prepare technical reports, proposals, and presentations for stakeholders.

Stay abreast of industry advancements and apply innovative modelling techniques.

Manage project budgets, timelines, and ensure efficient service delivery.

Provide expert advice on coastal and marine engineering, sedimentary processes, climate adaptation, port operations, and related disciplines.
Qualifications & Experience:

Master’s degree in Marine or Coastal Engineering, Oceanography, Physics, Mathematics, or related field.

Minimum 15 years’ relevant experience in marine and coastal numerical modelling.

In-depth knowledge of state-of-the-art numerical modelling approaches and coastal sediment processes.

Strong analytical skills and proficiency with commercial and open-source modelling tools.

Experience in statistical analysis of time series data supporting modelling efforts.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Proven leadership, team management, and project management abilities.

Experience in stakeholder engagement, technical reporting, and consultancy environments.
