GEMS Education, a leading educational institution committed to excellence and the welfare of students, is seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant. This full-time, on-site role supports teachers in delivering high-quality education and ensures a positive learning environment for students. The position involves assisting with classroom activities, managing small groups, preparing learning materials, and maintaining organizational standards in accordance with GEMS Core Values.
Key Responsibilities:

Assist teachers with reading and other classroom activities

Conduct small group activities both inside and outside the classroom as directed

Prepare and organize classroom materials, including mounting displays and photocopying documents
-
Cover classes for short periods in emergency situations
-
Maintain stock cupboards and distribute new materials
-
Develop familiarity with curriculum components, such as literacy, numeracy, and phonetics
-
Ensure adherence to GEMS policies, procedures, and codes of conduct
-
Attend staff meetings and participate in committees as required

Maintain confidentiality and discretion in all matters

Perform additional duties as requested by supervisors or management
Skills & Requirements:

Strong written and spoken English communication skills
-
ICT skills are desirable

Ability to handle multiple tasks under pressure

Strong interpersonal skills to relate effectively with children and colleagues

Commitment to safeguarding and promoting student welfare
-
UK-enhanced DBS or equivalent police check required
