Aldar Education is looking for a passionate and dedicated English Teacher to join the team at Al Qurm Charter School in Abu Dhabi. Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver inspiring lessons to motivate students and help them achieve their best possible academic outcomes.

• Collaborate with colleagues to plan and prepare engaging lessons that meet curriculum requirements.

• Build positive relationships with students, colleagues, and parents to support students’ academic and personal growth.

• Manage the classroom effectively to ensure a productive learning environment.

• Assess student progress and adjust teaching strategies to meet the needs of the students.

• Contribute to school events, extracurricular activities, and wider school life.

• Ensure that students develop critical digital citizenship and media literacy skills.

Specific Duties:

• Develop a clear understanding of the curriculum and create an engaging learning environment.

• Organize classroom resources and displays to encourage learning.

• Tailor lessons to meet the needs of all ability levels in the class.

• Observe and assess student progress in line with school assessments.

• Work with other professionals, such as therapists and psychologists, if required.

• Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the teaching and learning experience for students.

Assessment and Data:

• Take responsibility for the progress of your students.

• Use assessment data to inform lesson planning and interventions.

• Provide feedback to parents on student progress during conferences and meetings.

Behaviour Management:

• Follow the school’s behaviour policy and maintain a positive classroom atmosphere.

• Promote self-control and independence in students while maintaining high expectations for behaviour.

• Be a positive role model for students, demonstrating the values expected of them.

Wider Professional Responsibilities:

• Support the curriculum action group by contributing to planning, assessment, and resources.

• Participate in school events, extracurricular activities, and activities that may take place outside school hours.

• Communicate effectively with parents using the school’s systems.

• Contribute positively to the wider school ethos and culture.

Qualifications:

• Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in English or related subject with PGCE or other teacher qualification.

• Experience: Minimum 1-2 years of teaching experience.

• Skills: Previous experience working with students whose first language is not English is preferred. A passion for teaching, a high level of professionalism, and consistent involvement in extracurricular activities.
