The Student Counsellor will provide academic, personal, social, emotional, and psychological guidance to students, ensuring their overall well-being and smooth adjustment to school life. The role also involves assisting students with higher education admissions, career planning, and personal development.
Key Responsibilities
📌 Student Support & Well-being
- Establish counseling procedures to support students’ academic, emotional, and personal growth.
- Provide guidance to new students for a smooth transition into school.
- Address bullying concerns and implement proactive intervention strategies.
- Develop student support systems for those with emotional or personal challenges.
🎓 Higher Education & Career Guidance
- Assist students with college and university admissions, including application procedures and recommendations.
- Maintain an updated list of higher education institutions that have accepted school students.
- Organize and coordinate career sessions with professionals across industries.
- Provide opportunities for students to take admission tests for higher education.
- Work with the Librarian to update career and college resources.
📂 Student Records & Parent Communication
- Maintain records of students’ progress, achievements, activities, and interests.
- Establish procedures to inform parents about academic or behavioral concerns.
🤝 Alumni & Community Engagement
- Develop and maintain an Alumni network to support career mentoring and networking.
- Organize activities promoting leadership, responsibility, and social skills.
📊 Evaluation & Policy Compliance
- Implement testing programs to assess student aptitude and achievements.
- Ensure compliance with GEMS policies, procedures, and codes of conduct.
