Our Tier 1 main contracting client is seeking an experienced Structural Design Engineer to join their Dubai team, working on high-profile new build and refurbishment projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in structural design, including modifications to existing structures, strengthening of building slabs, and steel supports. Preference will be given to candidates who have worked with leading main contracting companies in the UAE.

📄 Contract: Initial 6-month contract as an outsourced employee through J10 Consulting, with an option to transition to a permanent staff role after 6 months if mutually agreed.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and develop structural designs, ensuring full compliance with applicable codes, standards, and client requirements.

• Coordinate closely with architects, engineers, and project stakeholders to define specifications and project scope.

• Perform structural analysis, design calculations, and feasibility studies to ensure safety, durability, and cost-effectiveness.

• Prepare and review detailed design drawings, technical specifications, and construction documents.

• Evaluate and approve subcontractor and supplier submissions, including shop drawings and materials.

• Provide ongoing technical support to project teams throughout the construction phase.

• Conduct site inspections and visits to monitor construction quality and alignment with design intent.

• Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve design-related challenges efficiently.

• Keep abreast of advancements and best practices in structural design and construction technologies.

• Mentor and guide junior engineers, sharing expertise and encouraging technical development.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Civil or Structural Engineering (or related field).

• At least 5 years of relevant structural design experience, preferably with a reputable main contracting company.

• Strong knowledge of international design codes and standards (e.g., ACI, AISC, ASCE).

• Proficiency with structural design software (e.g., SAP2000, ETABS, STAAD.Pro).

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

• Ability to collaborate effectively within multi-disciplinary teams.

• High attention to detail and commitment to delivering quality work.

• Willingness and physical ability to perform site inspections and visits as needed.

Salary

AED 12,000 – 16,000 per month, inclusive of fixed allowances.
